This classic cocktail can make even the couth-less, classy:
Manhattan
1 jigger bourbon
1/2 oz vermouth
dash of bitters
Stir [or shake it up] over ice, strain and serve with a cherry [what? no apple? the nerve of New Yorkers]!
[tomorrow I'll be back with a retro rhubarb recipe, so be sure to stalk me - har, rhubarb humor]
ps: vonlippi could you re-e me your addy? i deleted it dear!

Hooray! Rhubarb = my favorite. I'll be waiting anxiously with my rhubarb in hand an my apron fastened tightly.
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't believe you hit on the two things that remind me of my Grandma. She used to make the best rhubarb sauce ever and serve it in little side dishes with dinner. She also made a killer rhubarb pie. And before dinner, always a pitcher of Manhattans served with cherries on top. I was way too young to drink but why then do I know what they taste like?
