Light & Leafy

Salad was on sale this weekend at the grocery. Yep. I left off the word -store intentionally. Humor my retro-speak. As a result, I'm going to head [ooh, lettuce jokes] to the salad section of Betty Crocker's Dinner in a Dish cookbook circa '65 [thanks to Mandy's mom]. But I don't know what recipe to adDRESS [more salad humor].

Help.
Vote.
For:
  • Bacon 'n Tomato Salad
  • Tuna on a Shoestring
  • Fruited Chicken Salad
  • All-In-One Salad [which, oddly enough, includes both canned green beans AND sweet pickle relish]
The sooner you vote, the sooner my fam can tear [again, har - although maybe it's not so funny since I feel like I have to practically footnote each limp lettuce joke] into a salad this week!

Have a swell Sunday eve -

  1. I'd go for the first one. I like BLTs and this is close. I would NOT go for any recipe in which Betty uses the word "All."

  3. All-in-One if I'm not too late, sounds to interesting to pass up...if you don't make it should we have it for Thanksgiving????

  4. oh boy, bacon and tomato sounds the best...tuna on a shoestring sounds scary and oddly redundant - i hate fruit in my anything 'cept fruit so thats out... and the other one is just oddly odd. which sort of makes it worth making in an oddly odd way. but i kind of want to know how the bacon one turns out more...unless your going for the humor of it all :)

  5. i plucked two ripe tomatoes from the produce bin and a big slab of bacon - so guess what's for dinner?! thank god you people voted for bacon 'n tomato. heavy on the 'n!

although i am curious about the salty/sweet of the mild-mannered canned green bean and it's sweet-pickly nemesis!
